Marketing Committee
We want the LSU campus to visibly look different the week of Homecoming. We need people to organize and promote the banner competition and the Paint the Town Purple competition for local businesses. We want to get as many businesses as possible to decorate their store windows for the week of Homecoming. The Banner competition is a decoration competition between different campus organizations. There are over 375 campus organizations at LSU and we want as many involved as possible.
We’ve added a new competition, the Door Decorating Contest, to give even more people on campus the chance to creatively participate.
Job duties include:
• Getting the word out about all Homecoming events (staffing table sits, distributing posters, etc.)
• Making sure publicity items are produced (flyers, posters, ads, screensavers, radio, etc)
• Ordering promotional items
• Painting the advertising panels on the Spirit Wall
• Encouraging people to sign the big Spirit Wall in front of the Union
• Organizing and promoting the Student Organization Banner Competition, the Door Decorating Contest, and the Paint the Town Purple competition for local businesses
• Coordinating judging for above competitions
Court Committee
Plan all Homecoming Court events, manage Court selection process, solicit sponsorship for Court recipients, promote spirit, implement Court involvement, market for Court participation, increase visibility of past and present Court, organize Court luncheon and game day events.
Some specific job duties:
• Advertise for applicants for Homecoming Court. (table sits, post flyers, etc.)
• Make presentations to various student organizations
• Assist in court selections including applications and the interviews
• Organize court appearances and involvement in the parade
Parade Committee
The duties of this committee are:
• Requesting campus and community organizations’ participation in the parade.
• Collaborating to incorporate special students/groups in parade
• Recruiting additional volunteers
• Advertising the parade (hand out flyers, appear at several campus organization meetings)
• Contacting participants periodically
• BEING PRESENT THE DAY OF THE PARADE.

Service/Can Drive Committee
Job duties include:
• Collecting canned goods at events
• Logistics support
• Monitoring bins across campus during week
• Monitoring and building the can structure
• Creating the add-ons for the structure
• Advertising CANapalooza
Pep Rally/Spirit Events Committee
Job duties include:
• Pre-planning
• Get student organizations involved
• Handing out promo items
• Getting the crowd excited
• Directing groups to where they need to be at events
• Having fun!
